Twitter New NFT Profile Image Display Option for Twitter Blue Subscribers

With the new Twitter NFT profile image display option, Twitter is moving one step closer to making its platform a more personalized experience.

Twitter has announced that the option to use the NFT profile display is available to those with a Twitter Blue account on iOS. The option will not be accessible to all users until this feature is further developed.

As shown in this video, now, paying Twitter users will be able to show off their NFTs in a more effective manner. They’ll be able to display the images directly linked back to the ownership data on OpenSea.

That could also limit unauthorized image quality use, because people who don’t own the image won’t get the new hexagonal logo or additional linking options.

As explained by Twitter:

“Twitter is where people go to talk about things they care about, and often where people have their first experience with crypto and NFTs. We’re now seeing people use NFTs as a form of identity and self-expression, and as a way to join the thriving community and increasingly active conversation on Twitter. This new feature provides a seamless, user-friendly way for people on Twitter to verify their NFT ownership by allowing them to directly connect their crypto wallets to Twitter and select an NFT from their collection as their new profile picture.”

Twitter’s Blue subscribers will be able to link their crypto NFTs to their accounts. In their profile settings, they will be able to find this option, follow the steps(as shown), and connect up with all of their other NFTs in a quick and easy way.

Twitter Launches New NFT Profile Image Display Option to Twitter Blue Subscribers

As you can see here, connecting your crypto wallet to your NFT collection provides you with a direct pipeline between ownership info and your image.

The new profile photo has a hexagonal shape that is smooth to the touch and has a high-resolution. When you tap it, your profile will be updated with more information about the image.

One in every 10 Twitter users is looking forward to NFTs, and with Meta also looking to get into the NFT market, now’s the right time for Twitter to make a bigger push in the space.

With the increased amount of digital goods, digital NFTs will play a bigger role in facilitating their exchange. Not only can they make things easier to view & interact with, but they may even help create additional experiences.

NOTE: Twitter has clarified that they’ll be implementing NFT profiles on all users eventually, they’re starting to give some subscribers access to beta features. The ‘Labs’ element of Twitter Blue will now show them these new features ahead of other users.
