Finally, After the seeing that tags and mentions can be used to target or bully others, so Instagram launches new controls that allow you to manage who can tag or mention you on Instagram.
Instagram’s also adding new controls over who can tag and @mention your account, in order to reduce misuse of this feature for bullying. Now users of Instagram can choose or select whether you want everyone, only people you follow or no one to be able to tag or mention you in a comment, caption or Story.

Users can also choose the ‘Manually Approve Tags’ option to maintain more specific control over the process.
How to Choosing who can tag and mention you
As you can see here in the screenshot mentioned below
- At first, you have to go on setting option on the app.
- the select the privacy option and click to tag. (setting> privacy > tag)
- then select from everyone to be able to tag them, only the people they follow, or no one at all
- Or you can choose the ‘Manually Approve Tags‘ option to maintain more specific control over the process.
